Robert J. Vrablic
1929 - 2021
Robert J. “Sarge” Vrablic Sr., 91, of Summit Hill, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (Derby) Vrablic who passed away July 18, 2016. Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Kostelnik) Vrablic. He was a retired Master Army Sergeant in the United States Army serving in the Army Security Agency during the Korean War. He then went on and became a Northeast Army Recruiter. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church both in Summit Hill. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1947. He was also a member of the Lehighton American Legion Post 314 and the Maryland All Canary Club.
Surviving are daughters Heather and her husband Tim Heffelfinger of Summit Hill and Mary Lou and her husband Dennis Gombert of Pennbrook Pines, FL; sons Dr. Craig of Wilton Manors, FL, Rev. Hugh of Lansford, and Robert Jr. of Summit Hill; sisters Betty Robertshaw of Nesquehoning and Judy Lapos of Bethlehem; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sons John, Glenn, and Scott and a brother Stephen M.
Vrablic.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 in GAR Cemetery Summit Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his name to the Lehighton Legion Post 314 or the Wounded Warrior Project c/o 340 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, PA 18232.
