Richard "Denny" Creitz

1950 - 2022

Richard “Denny” Creitz, 71, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 15, 2022 in Weatherwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Richard “Bunny” and Jane (Zlock) Creitz. He was the owner and operator with his father of the Creitz Tune-Up Service Center, Nesquehoning. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School Class of 1968. He was a member of the Nesquehoning Fire Company #1 where he was Captain of the Fire Police and a member of the former Nesquehoning Ambulance Corp. He was also a member of the Nesquehoning Historical Society and a board member of the Nesquehoning Water Authority. He was honored as Nesquehoning Fireman of the Year by the Fire Co. and also named Nesquehoning Volunteer of the Year by the Nesquehoning Woman’s Club.                           

Surviving are cousins Joan Miller and her husband Russell of Lehighton, Ronald Creitz and his wife Lynne of Tamaqua, Bonnie Frey and her husband Norman of Mahoning Valley and David Stankovich and his wife Barbara of Walnutport; and Aunts Dorothy Crietz and Myrtle Crietz.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa 18240 with Pastor Marjorie Keiter officiating. Interment will be held in the Slovak Protestant Cemetery, Nesquehoning.  Family will receive friends 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home.
