1949 - 2024

Peter Malaska Jr., 74, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 15, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Donna M. (Baddick) Malaska. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 10th of last year. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Peter Sr. and Evelyn (Chuma) Malaska. He was employed as fluorine technician for Air Products in Hometown for 27 years. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School and Carbon Technical Institute Class of 1967.  He also graduated from the Allentown Barber School. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the Nesquehoning Sokol Club, the Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008 where he received the citizen of the year award, the Summit Hill Italian Club, the New Columbus Fire Company and the Jim Thorpe Sportsman Club. Pete coached many teams throughout the years, including Panther Valley Softball, Panther Valley Freshman and J.V. Football, Tamaqua Softball, Nesquehoning Little League, and the Nesquehoning Knee High Football. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing darts.

Surviving along with his wife are sons Justin and his fiancée Angela Evans, Chad and his wife Stephanie, and Peter and his companion Marissa Neberman all of Nesquehoning; a sister Michaele Kulick and her husband Brian of Nesquehoning; a brother Michael and his wife Kathryn of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Evan, Lyddia, Ethan, Alexandra, and Nixon; great granddaughter Kinsley; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Donations will be accepted in Pete’s name to the Panter Valley Softball Program, c/o Joseph S. Blazosky F.H., 81 E.
