Marilyn A. Amodea, 77, of Lake Hauto, entered into eternal rest January 16, 2023 in her home. She was the companion of Joseph Kovach for 12 years after the passing of her late husband Joseph P. Amodea in 2009. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Al and Jean (Feldstein) Levine. She was employed as an Artist, Teacher and Business Owner. She was the owner/operator of Heritage Frame and Glass Creations, Ltd. in Nesquehoning for 27 years until retiring in 2000. She was a graduate of Fort HamiltonHigh School, earned her bachelor’s degree from Hunter College, New York, and earned a master’s degree from Pratt College, New York. She was born and raised in the Jewish Faith. Marilyn enjoyed “Life of Art”, expressing herself through multiple mediums in sculptures, paintings, and sketches.  She was also a skilled commercial artist in her daily work at her business.

 

Surviving along with her companion are a son Jason M. Amodea and his wife Lydia (Mancini) of Lake Hauto; stepsons Joseph Amodea II and his wife Maureen of New York and John Amodea and his wife Brenda of Virginia; a stepdaughter Mary Amodea-Welsh and her husband Steve of Nesquehoning; a sister Eileen Raucher-Sutton and her companion Thomas Cornelia of Las Vegas; grandchildren Allison Amodea, Matthew Amodea, Christopher Campolo, Joseph Amodea III, Richard Amodea, and Michael Amodea; a nephew Steven Raucher and niece Sharon Silverstein.

 

She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter Barbara and a stepson David.

 

A Parastas Service will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 7:00P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St. Nesquehoning, PA 18240 with Rev. VasylChepelskyy officiating and also a Funeral Service Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:45 A.M. with Rev. Robert George. Interment and graveside service will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Friday evening 5-7:00 P.M. and Saturday morning 10-11:45 A.M. in the funeral home.
