Joan Marie Knepper, 72, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of William D. Knepper Jr. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on December 28th of last year. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late James E. “Kong” and Mary (Delauretis) Sweeney. She was employed as a clerk for the Lansford Water Authority and then worked as a bookkeeper for the First National Pharmacy, Lehighton until retiring. She was a member of the former St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Lansford. She was a graduate of Marian High School Class of 1967. Joan enjoyed cooking, casino trips, and traveling to Ireland and Disney World but especially loved spending special time with her family.

Surviving along with her husband are a daughter Nicole Knepper of Lansford; a son Matt and his wife Jeanne (McHugh) of Lansford; sisters Jacqueline wife of Angelo Malaska and Mary Lynn wife of John Bargilione both of Nesquehoning;a brother John Brian Sweeney and his wife Anita (Anderson) of Lake Hauto; grandchildren Caleb, Colleen, Brigid, Quinn, Molly, Abby, Dominic and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Mark Knepper.

A viewing will be held Monday, May 02, 2022 from 5-7:00 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St. Nesquehoning, PA.
