1947 - 2023

Joan Marie Horowski, 76, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 8, 2023 in her residence. She was the wife of Edward Horowski.  They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on April 26th of this year. Born in Hazelton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Cruper) Oleksa. She was employed as secretary for a law office in Hazelton and then worked for the former St. Michael’s and St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford as a secretary. She was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford. She was also a former member of St. Michael’s and St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hazelton. She was a graduate of Hazelton Twp. Class of 1965. She was a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Lehighton. Joan loved taking care of her family especially her granddaughter Oleksa.

Surviving along with her husband Edward are daughters Paula Horowski and her husband Dustin McAdrews of Jim Thorpe and JoLynn Gazo and her husband Brian of Mahoning Twp., and a granddaughter Oleksa; 

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 104 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, Pa with Rev. Gregory Hosler officiating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Family will receive friends Tuesday 10-11:00 A.M. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name to the Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh St., Allentown, Pa 18103.
