Helen Louise Angst (nee Bouslough) of Nesquehoning passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton. She was 84.

Helen was raised in Blair County, PA by her mother, Ella Bouslough (nee McNally), along with three siblings, Richard, Harry, and Vada.  She was a bright student with a love for math and science and graduated valedictorian in 1954 from Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg, PA.

Helen worked as a bookkeeper for several PA radio stations including WPAM in Pottsville, where she also hosted a recipe-sharing talk show called “Ask Your Neighbor” and co-edited two cookbooks published by WPAM and WLSH in Lansford.  Her fresh baked “gobs”, a recipe passed on to her by her mother, has delighted countless family and friends over the years.  She finished her career as a bookkepper for the Nesquehoning Borough Water Authority. She served her community for decades through her church, Zion Lutheran in Nesquehoning.

She and her husband Roy “Mickey” Angst celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary prior to his passing in 2018.  She is survived by three children: Cynthia Ann of West Chester, PA; Daniel Alan of Nesquehoning; and Michael Andrew of Paradise Valley, AZ She also mourned the loss of a fourth child, Michael Roy, who was born on July 4th in 1958 and survived only eight hours.

Helen brought immense warmth and love to the lives of three grandchildren: Jordan (28) Madison (15), and Cassidy (14).
