Passed away at her home in Brookeville, Maryland on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Chrysa was born on July 28, 1959. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anna Thear.Chrysa was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and received her Master's degree from Michigan State University. She had a lengthy and successful career as a Senior Negotiations Executive with IBM. Alongside her career responsibilities, she dedicated a large part of her life caring for her parents. Chrysa was passionate about baking, gardening, and serving others within her community. She was especially fond of the Christmas holidays and loved spreading her joy for the season through her Winter Wonderland Christmas displays and through her business, "Christmas Magic." Chrysa was on the Board of Directors for "Our House" and served on her HOA Board. She was an avid gardener, who often contributed to local food banks.She is survived by two sisters, Debra Yakubik and Tania Ferguson, two brothers-in-law, five nieces, one nephew, five great-nieces, and three great-nephews.The family will receive guests at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, Tuesday, May 18, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 10:30 A.M. in St. John Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning.Those attending must wear a mask or adequate face covering while inside the building. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 20, 201 at 10:30 A.M. in St. John Russian Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, PA. Interment will be in Nesquehoning, PA , following the funeral services. Memorial contributions may be sent to "Our House", 19715 Zion Road, Brookeville, MD. 20833.
