Carolyn D. Evans, 77, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 05, 2022 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus. She was the wife of James J. Evans Sr. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 24th of last year. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Pauline (Kunzweiler) Elias. She was employed as a crossing guard for the borough of Nesquehoning and a bus monitor for the Panther Valley School District for many years. She was a graduate of Marian High School Class of 1964. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill and a member of the Nesquehoning Hose Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary. She was active in the Nesquehoning Little League were she managed the concession stand for several years. Carolyn loved playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving along with her husband are a daughter Lisa D. Greenawalt and her wife Jennifer Koltz of Macungie; sons James J. Jr. and his wife Deb of Nesquehoning, Michael S. of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Matthew S. of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Bryanna and her fiancé Kelsey, Brianna and her husband Zach, Emily, Mackensey, and Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister Jacqueline (Jacqui) Yanoshik and a brother Herman Elias.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa with Rev. Robert George officiating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Monday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
