Caroline A. (Watkins) Coll

1949-2021

 

Caroline A. (Watkins) Coll, 71, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Monday, June 14, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Edward Coll. They would have celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary on July 30th of this year. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Edward “Battleship” and Augusta (Wilhelm-Suttel) Watkins. Carol attended Sacred Heart Grade School, Marian High School, and CCTI School of Nursing. She was employed as an LPN for the Palmerton Hospital, the Weatherwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and the County Prison among others and then St. Luke’s Physicians Group until retiring. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader in Jim Thorpe. Also for many years, she was involved with the Nesquehoning American Legion and was a proud and ardent supporter of the Jim Thorpers Bicycle Team and their mission to support the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation.

 

Surviving along with her husband are daughters Elisa (Condon) Steigerwalt and her husband Geno of Jim Thorpe and Kelly (Condon) McLaughlin of Avoca, PA ; grandchildren Morgan (Steigerwalt) Spears and her husband Logan, Chad Jacobs, Josh Jacobs and companion Taylor, and Ryan McLaughlin; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was also preceded in death by a brother Edward Watkins Jr. and her previous husband John Condon
